II.A.4. For how long do we keep information?

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so We can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on Our website, We also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

To make sure We meet Our legal data protection and privacy obligations, We only hold on to your information for as long as We actually need it for the purposes We acquired it for in the first place. III.A Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. Park Lore reserves the right to republish any comments or articles submitted to it in any medium at any time.

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

IV.A. Social media, blogs, and reviews

Any social media posts or comments you send to Us (on Our Twitter page, for instance) will be shared under the terms of the relevant social media platform (e.g. Twitter) on which they are written and could be made public.

Other people, not Us, control these platforms. We are not responsible for this kind of sharing. V. Cookies

We use MonsterInsights as Our analytics tool. MonsterInsights Google Analytics application uses the Google Analytics Reporting API to gather analytics about this website and present them to Our administrators.

MonsterInsights discloses client Google Analytics information with prior user consent only to those of its employees, contractors, and affiliated organizations that (i) need to know that information in order to process it on MonsterInsights behalf or to provide the services available at MonsterInsights websites (ii) and to provide necessary technical support for our services.

VII.A. Requesting removal of your information

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. All personal data that you supply Us with from Our website is stored on servers provided by Our hosting provider. We understand that Our hosting provider (Bluehost) only employs servers sited in data centers that have the highest level of security accreditation at the time of implementation. For your protection, We never store any payment details and where possible We store personal data such as passwords, encrypted.

Please also be aware that communications over the Internet, such as emails, are not secure unless they have been encrypted. Your communications may route through a number of countries before being delivered – this is the nature of the World Wide Web/Internet.
